Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Jang Teo is one of my favourite spots. They offer a wide variety of Korean dishes, which is their biggest strength. The portions are generally generous, though it can depend on what you order. Today, I had yeongyang-tang (nutritious soup), and my partner had donkatsu. The yeongyang-tang was quite good with a nice bit of spice that worked well. I finished the whole bowl. My partner’s donkatsu was tasty too. All the side dishes were delicious, and we both enjoyed the meal. Whenever I want Korean food but can’t decide what to get, I come to this restaurant. It’s a cozy, small place that I really like. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Korean cuisine. They also offer takeaway, which adds to the convenience."
"Spicy lamb meat soup A huge chunk of lamb meat served in a boiling spicy soup soaked up in perilla seed powder, chives, spring onion and perilla leaves Just my go to during winter times Feels like an authentic Korean restaurant right out from Korean market places"
"Comes highly recommended, very busy during peak should come early if you want a table. Food is amazing and on point, side dish with great selection. One of the better korean restaurants in wairau."
"The food was nice here. Bought some soup and other stuff. The soup was delicious. Feels a bit overpriced. Customer service was nice. It gets very busy inside. Heaps of parking outside."
"Bought the chicken on rice. Chicken was cooked really nicely and the sweet/spicy sauce was great. Chicken was bone in nibbles Reasonable amount of chicken(6 pieces) Came with pickled radish. Not convinced it’s better value than a half boneless chicken. If I’d known it was bone in I probably would have bought something else"
"Wow! The Jjajang Myein noodles with pork and black bean sauce with chili and coriander was amazing and served with yellow pickles. It was a large portion for just $20 and was absolutely delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely go back there again. Highly recommended!!"
"This was the most delicious Korean restaurant I’ve ever been to in New Zealand. The side dishes were amazing, and I highly recommend the Yukgaejang and the spicy fish roe soup (Altang). I also really enjoyed the cold bean-soup noodlesit (Kong-guksu)was rich, comforting, and full of flavor."
"#Korean restaurant# Small restaurant with great Korean food! Strongly recommend the soups, such as fish roe、beef、pork and tofu. Reasonable price and generous portions."
